These are the steps I have made to enable SSL on SQL Server. I am not
sure if it is enabled or not.
(1) Created a certificate request by using
Start->Control Settings->Administrative
Tools->Internet Services Manager.
(2) I passed this request on to Microsoft Certificate
Server located at http://ssrc.msstate.edu/certsrv/ .
The certificated generated has been stored on to the
desktop.
(3) Right-click the certificate and install.
(4) Enabled the Force Protocol Encryption in Server
Network Utility and restarted the SQL Server.
At this point I was hoping that no clients will be
able to login to SQL Server. I tried using QA from a
different computer and it was able to login without
any difficulty. Does this prove that SSL is not
enabled on the SQL Server.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
GK
