Our SQL server is been installed with Service Pack 2 and with some hotfixes( The MDAC version was MDAC 2.7 SP1 Refresh. The new patch for MDAC is applied on server in January which was the last update to server. )

This server is used for OLAP purposes. User is using Excel to connect to Analysis Manager and retrieving the records from the Cube.

After installing the service Pack 3a, user was unable to connect to the server. A error message comes which includes MultiDimensional Connection Box Screen and message box

(screen name : open connection failed) ...

"Unable to open connection. Cannot Load databases;version may not be valid. Connection to the server is lost."

The above happens only if i use a user account. But using a administrator account I am able to connect. After trying many methods, uninstalled SQLServer and installed back SQL server with service Pack 2. Now i am able to retrieve the data from Cube as a user.
I need to patch Analysis server with service pack 3a. Is the above situation can be solved? Thanks in advance for any help regarding this...
