Deployment on a different server

I have made a reporting services project on my machine in VS.NET 2003. When i try to deploy this project on the report server on another machine it gives a Visual Interdev error saying
      'A connection could not be established to the ReportServer http://othermachineReportServerUrl'
But with other machines in the same domain this problem is not there. ie rs projects on their machiens can be deployed on to remote reporting server.
Also even on my machine if i deploy the project with my machinename(not with localhost) i get the same problem. Again even on my machine if i deploy the project with my machine IP, it asks for username and password while deploying. Even if i give the correct username and password it does not accept it.
I would appreciate it if anybody could tell me what the problem is....how to correct it.
