Hi Kevin and Randy,
firstly: thanks for your replies.
I (as a NT-admin) want to ask Kevin whether he can give any info about the security needed from the NT-admin point of view.
For example:
The excessive rights and permissions granted to the SQL DBA´s on the Operating System.
I can understand that a DBA likes to be a member of the Windows "Administrators" group, but i think it is not a necessary requirement (and should not be) to manage and maintain SQL Server.
I want to know how i can secure the OS without giving excessive rights and permissions to SQL DBA´s on the host OS.
Remark: i checked with our UNIX collegues and their DBA´s don´t need "ROOT" -rigths/permissions to do their work, so i believe the same must be possible with Windows.
Any help and/or documentation would be appreciated.
Regards,
Peter
