The error might be this Windows bug:
312827 An Incorrect Authentication Package Name May Appear in Audit Event 529

The reason it is making an NT level connection is because by default, for each registered SQL Server, EM will periodically ping the
registered server's OS to see if SQL Server is started. You can disable this by going to tools.options and unchecking the box for "poll server
to find out state...."
