beginers encryption question

What I want to do is encryt all informatiom sent from a
web server to a sql server.
If I the set client network utility to use encrytion on
the web server, do I have to do anything at the sql
server?
If I change the Server network utitly to use encrytion,
will all clients have to use encrytion, not just the web
server?
