MS03-033 Unchecked Buffer in MDAC

There is a patch for this. But the bug is not in MDAC 2.8
so would I be better off installing MDAC 2.8 on my W2K/SQL
Server 2000 (SP3) servers? Is MDAC 2.8 compatible with
W2K/SQL Server 2000 (SP3)?
