I currently have an SQLServer database server with
Auditing set to ALL. It's a web-enabled database, and is
getting hits every few seconds. I'd like to change the
setting to FAILURE to just get failed attempts (so I can
tell if someone is trying to get in other than through the
web application).
Do I have to restart the server when changing settings?
I know the BOL states "you must stop and restart the
server for auditing to be enabled", but auditing is
already enabled, I just want to change the level,
preferably without an outage.
