1. The same connection dialog box is used whenever
connecting with Query Analyzer. It's just giving you the
option of how you want to connect but doesn't have anything
to do with what authentication mode is valid on the server.
It wouldn't know what authentication mode would be valid as
this client tool doesn't know what server you may be
connecting to and it isn't connected to any server when the
dialog box comes up.
2. EM will use whatever you set up when you register the
server. You can change this by right clicking on the server
and selecting Edit Registration properties.
