In SQL Server, you can use the WITH PASSWORD option in BACKUP DATABASE.

Hi,
Are the BAK files that are on our server secure? So if someone hacked our
network, and couldn't log into our SQL server because it's secure, what
would keep them from stealing the BAK file?
Can you protect or encrypt it?
Thanks,
