I have MDSE on my local machine and SQL2000 Developer
edition on my server machine, both machines are running
Windows XP Pro.

My problem is, how do you set up security so that I can
access either of the SQL Servers. I have an account
called Mal on my client machine which has a Network
password for my server machine but this does not seem to
work.

My server machine used to run Windows2000 as a domain
controller and this worked fine because both machines
were members of the domain and I could add my domain
password to the SQL Server 2000 logins, but My client
machine does not appear as a user on my Server SQL Server.
