Hi,
I wish to ask about the permissions needed to run either sql profiler and
index tuning wizard.
I have always been under the impression that in order to run both of these
utilities that you needed to be a member of sysadmins.
however I recently read an article saying that sql profiler can be run by
anybody who has execute permission on all stored procedures for it.
is this true?
I found a list of extended sp's used by profiler in books online but am no
so sure that this ia a full listing.
I can't find any reference to any kind of stored procedures used by index
tuning wizard so I guess people who run this must have to be members of
sysadmins.
can anybody please tell me if my assumptions on the above points are correct
or not and point me to articles ect that might clarify this point.
cheers
martin.
