TO get Out put of command in variable

    HI all

    I am working in sql server 7.0

    I want to get the out put of the command
    xp_cmdshell ''Dir \\yhlbackup\DBBACKUP\HIS_DB\*.dff'''

    in variable or in table to process the out put

    Is it Possible ?

    Or is there any other alternative to do that?
