    Hi,

First let me apologize if this is a novice question, I have very
limited experience with SQL Server. I work in System Engineering and
have been tasked with finding a solution to the following issue fo a
    customer:

I need to be able to monitor all attempted permission changes to a SQL
db, this includes successes and failures. Plus I need to monitor the
changes that are made to the index files, ect. I need to have the
alerts placed in the event log, so that a custom rule in MOM will pick
up on it. I already have an idea for the rule in MOM, I really just
need to know where to look to turn on the auditing for db permission
    access.

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Shawn
