I have a problem granting local group access to sql server.
Windows 2000 domain Mixed Mode, Nt4 sp6 Member Server with
Sql 7 sp3 Security Mixed Mode .
I create a Domain Global Group, i fill the DGG with users
then i create a NT Local group on sql server machine.
After that i nest the domain global group into the local
group and add sql7server\localgrp to the Logins granting
access to Northwind (public role) and setting Northwind as
default db.
When i try to connect (Query Analyzer) with windows
authentication (having previously logged in with an
account that is member of the domain global group) i
receive this error:
Unable to connect to server \\sql7server:
Server: Msg 4062, Level 16, State 1
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot open
user default database '<ID>'. Using master database
instead.
And then it quits.
I searched into newsgroups, googling everywhere and
nothing found (only 2 mskb articles that didn't help me
much).
Sorry for bad english, i'm Italian.
Ask me if you need more detailed infos and please help
me :)
Thanks in Advance
Luca
