If you don't have a Windows account, how do you start the SQL Server service when it isn't running. Please be specific as to the commands you issue.
Keep in mind that without a Windows account, you can't log on to Windows itself to start the service, and since the SQL Server service is stopped, you can't connect to SQL Server.
Perhaps there is a miscommunication between you and Tom. Tom is not asking whether you have an account within SQL Server that uses Windows Authentication. He's asking about how you connect to the Windows OS.
