If you are using Windows 2000 or XP Professional, you can
get rid of the pop ups for good by stopping the Messenger
service. You can do start, run and type "compmgmt.msc /s",
without quotes, then select the messenger service and stop
it. If you are not using the service at all, you can
disable it, so it will not start when the computers boots
up.
