Tom,

Thank you for responding. As far what the domain account
is, I don't know why that affects it. We just have one
domain account here and it should have the permissions to
write to the folder, it always did before. The SQL
program was backing up the database until about a month
ago. The last time it backed up was on Feb 11, 2003. We
had a bad snow storm that caused some problems, so maybe
that could have affected it.

Since it keeps giving an Operating System error = 2, would
I be able to fix the problem by putting in the OS cd and
running a repair on the SQL server OS. I was able to do a
windows backup, where I just saved the hard drive space
and the system state. that way the data won't be lost if
anything were to happen with the SQL cd.

But anyway, yet the file that the database was backee up
to is local.

So, what do you think?

using for the MSSQLServer service and does it have
permission to write to the folder? Is the folder local or
on another machine?
