My current employee has a network with one main server
WINDOWS 2000 SERVER called MainServer. Active directory is
setup on this server with one only domain called
MainDomain.
SQL server is setup on my computer, called
MyServerComputer, which is a 2000 server 2000. It happens
to be W2000 SERVER because the current version of SQL
server I am using is only supported by server OS. My
computer is like any of those on the network. The only
difference is that it is a server.
My problem is that I am having problems to setup new
logins. The default domain displayed by SQL happens to be
my computer name - MyServerComputer. In fact, no other
domains appear in the combobox. I have tried to setup
users by typing MainDomain\NewUserName and SQL server
fails to recognize that user
I am not expert at windows networks so I would not like to
move the current location of my SQL server nor perform a
setup on the main server.
Could anybody help me?
