Hi Lori, I've been playing with this a little further since our massive
rename has been moved up to next week. I had luck stopping and starting the
server service one time. Named Pipe connections were blown but TCP/IP
connections stayed. Another time it worked after I stopped both the SQL
Service and the Server service.
It is still disruptive, but looks like will reduce down-time by a few
minutes.
