1. The preferred way to encrypt data across the network is to use SSL.
There is a support webcast at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=/servicedesks/webcasts/wc0423
02/wcblurb042302.asp, you may refer to it for more information how to
configure SSL support for SQL.
2. Multiprotocol encryption is still supported; but it only works for
default instance. For information about how to configure Multiprotocol
encryption support, please check article at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;239894&.
