In Enterprise Manager, if I right-click the instance in the left pane,
I get a popup menu with many options. Two of the options are:

- Edit SQL Server Registration properties
- Properties

The "Edit SQL Server Registration properties" option has only one tab.
There are two "Connection" options: 1) Use Windows authentication and
2) Use SQL Server authentication.

The "Properties" option has nine tabs, one of them being "Security".
On this security tab, there are two types of Authentication: 1) SQL
Server & Windows, and 2) Windows Only.

My question is, what is the difference between these two security
attributes. I understand Windows authentication versus SQL Server
authentication, but what is the purpose of the choice on "Edit SQL
Server Registration properties" versus "Properties". Does one apply
to normal database users while the other applies to Enterprise Manager
users?

Thanks,
Jeff
