I have the following set up:

1) Windows NT 4.0 Server SP 6
2) SQL Server 2000 Enterprise SP 2
3) Win XP No SP workstation
4) Win 98 2 ed. workstation
5) Workgroup rather than domain

I can set up and connect using Enterprise Manager on the
98 machine and on the NT 4.0 server. However, on the XP
machine when I try to register a new SQL server I get the
following error: Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason:
Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

I have tried both Windows authentication and SQL Server
authentication to no avail. Does anyone have experience
with this or any tips?

My end goal is to have a working SQL connection btw the XP
machine and the NT 4.0 machine so that I can run a network
distributed application that relies on SQL.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Andrew
