It seems that the "manipulate the "always prompt for login name and
password" " is the only option to do so.
The information is stored in the registry, and can't be manipulated there:
HKEY_USERS\S-ID\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL
Server\80\Tools\SQLEW\Registered Servers X\SQL Server Group
