The problem is after an undetermined time period of time the SSPI context.
The error message is "[Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server Driver] Cannot generate
SSPI context." This happens on only two computers, one is a laptop
workstation, and the other is a desktop workstation both with Windows XP
Prof and Office XP Prof connected to a company wide domain of 30 or so and
one main server and a development server. When we first log onto domain,
all works ok. Then after an undetermined period of time the SSPI context is
lost to the SQL Server on both servers but not to the local SQL Server. We
essentially get the same error message weather we are connecting through an
in house developed application, the ODBC Manager, the SQL Enterprise
Manager, or the Quarry Analyzer. There seems to be no connections to the
programs running. The laptop is used by a Mechanical Engineer with his
associated programs and the desktop is a software development workstation.
We can print and read files from the servers.
I do not know if this is a Windows XP problem or an SQL problem. Any help
or suggestions would be appreciated.
