Which operating system is your SQL Server on? See if this helps:

I'm running msde. System was attacked by the SQLSpida worm. Patches / virus signatures etc processed but the original blank password for sa is now set to some 'random four character value' (quote from the sqlspida info on the web). I now cannot get 'in' to reset this password. msde is used as a component of other apps (e.g. Altiris DS). I cannot re-install this without accessing sql database via sa account. I can find nothing on web or MS about how to circumvent this 'hacked' password 'set' for sa by the sqlspida worm. Can anyone provide a solution? Thanks, Alan
