Rob,
There is a pointer in the bulletin to the knowledge base articles that
accompany the security patch.
If you are running SQL Server 2000,
select @@version should return 8.00.679 for a successful install of the
patch.

If you are running SQL Server 7.0,
select @@version should return 7.00.1077 for a successful install of the
patch.
