Hi,
We are about the replace our SQL 7 server running on NT 4.0 Enterprise to
Windows 2k with SQL 2k - we will buy and install a new server and then move
all the databases to the new server since we can't upgrade Win NT enterprise
version to Win2k server.
The current SQL server is located on the DMZ and users from the win2k domain
are accessing this SQL server and the SQL is NOT member of the domain so we
have to create a username for each user from the domain on the server that
running the SQL with the same username & password as the user have on the
domain.
No before I'm going to put up the new server I would like to know how to
avoid the need to create a username & password for each user from the domain
on the server that will run the SQL.
We are going to use SQL authentication and we don't want to add the SQL to
the domain but the thing is that when ever a user access the server that
running the SQL server and the user does NOT have account on the win server
I'm getting an event on the security: Logon Failure
Reason: Unknown username or bad password.
How can I solve this issue??
(if you post I would appreciate if you can send it to my email too

Thanks,
Guy Kopel.
