Hi Peter,

I have performed two types of test operation, but I cannot produce the
problem. One is set the startup service account as system account, the
other is set it as domain account. Here's what I have done.
1. Change 'Use Windows authentication' to 'Use SQL Server authentication'
under 'Edit Server Registration properties'.
2. Put the standard account, for example, 'sa' in the 'Login name' text box
and input correct password.
3. All the things are OK after re-starting the SQL Server service.

However, if I input wrong password, the error message same as what you have
gotten appears. You can re-set the password for the account 'sa' under
Security\Logins in the Enterprise Manager and try again. The operating
system where I perform test is Windows 2000 server.

Sincerely,
