Hi I live between two domains. Say I am in Domain A. I have a SQL
server in Domain B.

I have created an account (myaccount) and given it what I believe is the
proper permissions for accessing the DB on the SQL server.

Now I go to my client machine - try to register this new server using
the SQL account I created. After a few seconds I get the error.
SQL server registration failed because of the connection failure
displayed below. Do you wish....?
'Client unable to establish connection'
ConnectionOpen (CreateFile())

To register I have used the server name or IP and get the same problem.
I can get back a reply from pinging it so, I know it's on the network.

What can be the problem? We cannot use NT Authentication (at least I
don't think so) because the two domains are not trusted. Can you tell
me why the regular SQL authentication won't work EVEN if I try to
register using the SA account?

Thanks
Erik
