Good discussion Divya an Sue. A couple of other things we might want to
check
1) See if you get the same error message when you try to configure the DSN
with another user in the same group.
2) One other option is to try dropping the group and readding it (assuming
you do not have too many databases and permissions that needs to configure
for each of them once you readd it)
3) See if you can reproduce this behavior with a different group and a
different user.
4) Check the application,security and system event logs on the server and
the client machine to make sure there are no error messages related to this
group.
5) Is this group a local group on the server or a global group?
