Re: whats happened to consumer security discussion groups -home p

As I said, there appear to be issues when using the web-interface to access the MS newsgroups. I dunno what's wrong.

Security.HomeUsers newsgroup:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.security.homeusers

Security General (this one):
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.security

Click on either of the above links to open the newsgroup in your default newsreader. If you're running Windows, they'll open in Outlook Express, hence the other two links I posted.

all of the discussion group pages have no sign-in button. i clicked reply,

idea what my default newsreader would be. do i have to set one up. i do not
use outlook express. i use bellsouth.net(at&t) for email. thanks.

It would appear the newsgroup access via the web-interface <yuck> has been
horked since sometime last weekend. But this hasn't affect NNTP
(newsreader) access.

You can still access Security.HomeUsers and all other MS newsgroups,
including this one, using your default newsreader and the MS newsserver
