Sorry to be so long in replying but didn't realize you had posted until this
evening. It has been more than a month ago when I corrected the Norton
problem and since I have slept since then I am a little fuzzy on it. I do
remember it was a default setting within Norton and I had to go at least 2
screens deep to get to the setting. If you do a search on my name, maybe it
will turn up.
I am so sorry I can't be more specific because you all are so much help when
needed. At the time it seemed such a minor thing to me that I didn't pay
that much attention and since the Norton trial ran out I have removed it from
my system. The program was their Internet Security Suite.

Instead, I checked through the options and settings in Norton and found what
was causing a conflict and changed a simple setting.
Care to share the setting that needed to be changed ? It may/will help
other Norton 'victims'. Especially if it's a Default setting.

Last night I installed the June security updates and restarted my system
(a
3-month new laptop running Vista Home Premium). After rebooting I could
not
get on the internet. I uninstalled the IE part of the updates and was
able
to get on the internet. Much to my aggravation, that update reinstalled
and
I again could not get on the internet. I uninstalled the IE update a
second
time and am able to access the internet. Now I discover my Windows Mail
will not connect so I am going to have to uninstall the Mail update to see
if I can access my email! What an annoyance. Does anyone know what has
caused this problem with the updates and what I can do to work around the
problems and get the updates to work without cutting me off from the
internet? I have had no other problems with other MS updates todate.
