Re: Sys Admin quit

and keep in mind that the old admin knows the network structure how the
computers are setup and which ones are used for what and what programs are
for who. it may be wise to mix a few things up such as changing computer
names and internal network ip addresses , ect...

hope this doesn't hurt your buisness too much,

Thanks for all the replies.

It's not that bad:

- He's an OK guy (not malicious or evil).
- He isn't very skilled (definitely not a hacker; e.g., I don't think
he knows what a rootkit attack is).
- It's small, simple, single domain network with about 25 users.

Anyway, I will definitely implement all the steps you guys suggested,
and go from there. Thanks again.

Keep in mind he doesn't have to be "very skilled", he just has have to be
"a little bit skilled and a little bit lucky". As a defender, you need to
be 'lucky' every time you face an attack. An attacker only needs to be
lucky for the duration of one of those attacks. Proceed with caution.
