Actually someone in my office suggested DeviceLock, but it was turned
down by our CSO for a few different reasons, one of which had something
to do with our company's US government contracts and not being able to
run software from a Russian company or something. You would think with
the Cold War over that this would not be the case, but it is, many
government agencies won't let software be installed if it comes from
certain countries.
You are right SecureWave is pretty expensive, it is pretty robust, but
might also be overkill for us. I think we are leaning towards
DeviceWall at this point, but some folks sent me a list of a few other
apps to look at. Thanks for your help everyone.

Try DeviceLock from www.protect-me.com/dl/. It is mush more powerfull
than DeviceWall and SecureWave and even much cheaper.

I have been tasked with finding a way to block some devices from being
connected to USB ports. We need to be able to block thumb drives for
example, but allow other things like keyboards and mice. I have
downloaded and am evaluating DeviceWall and SecureWave, but am just
wondering what else other people are using and also if Vista will be
able to do this when it is (finally) released.
Thank you
