Account lockout and Anonymous logon events are two
separate issues. Check on the remote machine from
which the account is being locked for such things as
persistant shares, or stored network credentials (while
logged in as the account use start/run control keymgr.dll),
scheduled tasks configured to run as that account, etc.
For the Anonymous logon issue your best approach
would be to download the Windows Server 2003 Security
guide and do a search on "anonymous" in it and read. There
are a couple of simple policy settings in the Security Options
section of group policy, but these can have impact particularly
if you are needing to support downlevel clients.

Hi Jovon,
I am using Microsoft windows server 2003 R2 Standard Edition, sp 1. The
Client is using XP professional. The Security log had 63,552 events
recorded.
I deleted those and it looks like it is starting to fill up with the
anonymous login/logoff again.

Good Afternoon,
What operating system are you using? Also, is your security audit log
full?
Thanks.

Hi, I'm using windows 2003 server in a workgroup enviroment. Onehave
account
always gets locked out when trying to use shared resources. When I
check
event viewer, there is a long list of anonymous log in's. It shows
events
540 and 538. I have tried deleting the account and starting over, but I
a feeling that it only made things worse. What can I do?
Thanks
kdaniel
