9) Pony up and get yourself a good European anti-virus/antispyware
package:
This is hard to understand. Is it they just make better programs?

The short answer is yes. European antivirus &
antispyware programs as a class tend to be much
better written than US equivalents: they do their
jobs thoroughly without causing problems for the
PC. Look at the widely used freeware programs
Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, and AVG: Sweden, Germany
and the Czech Republic. Mikko Hypponen of the
Finnish company, F-Secure, is the primary tech
expert for the main US cybercrime task force. I
regularly have to advise people to uninstall Norton
because of it causing problems with email and web
access. I gave up on McAfee years ago when its
latest update couldn't detect a fast spreading bug
that F-Prot, a very simple, lightweight Icelandic
product, could.
