You have XP Home which is a 32bit operating system.
You have a 2.4GHz Pentium 4 processor
You have 512 Mb of RAM
I can't tell you how much disk space you have as you have not provided
that information, try double clicking on My Computer, right click on
your HDD and select Properties.

Space and memory are not the same space refers to the size of your HDD,
memory is the amount of RAM you have installed

Thanks for such a quick & helpful response : )

Here's the info: Free Space 14.9GB
Total Size 33.6GB

... my invoice says...40GB Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive (7200RPM) This is an
entry level system I got in Dec. 04.
My Norton runs out next month. It never caught anything & I am surely loaded
with all kinds of nasties since it's getting slower & slower & just never
quite right as far as I'm concerned.
The plan was to totally uninstall it.
I had McAfee before that, & it needs to be uninstalled also.
Maybe that's the problem with Norton.
So what do ya'll think?

Asking which antivirus program is best is like asking which car is
best, ask 20 people and you will get 15 to 20 different opinions, lurk
in the alt.comp.anti-virus newsgroup for a while to get an idea.

It is widely held by many that you should only have one antivirus
program installed and running at a time, again opions differ.

You should consider an antispyware program, SpyBot Search and Destroy (
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html ) is one with a good
reputation but there are others such as Ad-Aware.

PS you have heaps of disk space available as Ted Zieglar said your
machine far exceedes the minimum requirements of the stuff you want to
install.
