Re: Why not patch all windows and not just legal copies

Thank you for your opinion Stanley, but I was asking this
of the OP, Michael.

If as you opine, disabling the systems would just cause the
" true "pirates"' to just find other ways to get the patches,
then the current status with update delivery would likely also.

While you may not have been addressing, as you say
I stick with my opinion that it is not necessarily the illicit
systems that are the majority of the problem - but simple
ignorance and lack of computer common sense on the part of any and
all users - registered/legal/legitimate or not.
which by the way is something with which I agree, this is
however not the expressed opinion of the OP

Thanks, Abell. =)

I realize it was a question to the OP. Never has really stopped anyone from
stating their opinions around here. *grin*

As for "finding other ways to get the patches" --> That happens now.

There are many ways to get the patches other than direct Microsoft channels.
Many of the "warez" copies you can google and find are patched up to the
given month.. slipstreamed and customized. How people can trust such things
is beyond my understanding - but if the download is there - my bet is that
someone is grabbing it.
