That should have effected a complete refresh of the scripting
engine. Have you tried running some simple script, such as
one obtained from www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter
just to establish whether any script does run (rather than there
being only problems with their scripts)?
Do you have residue from other installs around that might
have included script blocking ??

I may have just understood Stefan's post.
If in fact it is the scripting engine that is at issue, not some
specific script files, then you could likely use that minor update
release MS made a year and a half ago
