| One of our staff members turned on her PC the other day (XP Pro, SP2) to find
| an "image" superimposed over her desktop. It was quite large, leaving only a
| column of the desktop visible to the left. The image is a large white square
| with what looks like the icon of a piece of paper with a square in it and the
| icon-type image of a person (head & shoulders). The entire white square also
| has the "no" symbol over it (red circle with diagonal slash). I've tried
| everything I know to get rid of it. Changing the desktop doesn't help. The
| new desktop flashes"whole" for a second, then the phantom image appears again.
|
| I ran updated Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware in safe mode, no problems found. Does
| anyone have an idea what this could be and how to get rid of it? It's
| annoying as it takes up most of the desktop. Thanks!
Try turning off Active DeskTop and see if web page is part of the DeskTop.
