This "adware" ...cws is the most dangerous and difficult to remove
malicious software in the whole world. Its full name is Cool Web Search
KillApp is hacking tools ,again really dangerous.
None of the tools mentioned in my site belongs to me.I haven't created them
- they are well known tools used all over the world ,such as Ad-Aware SE or
SPyBot S&D.
Pavcl is well known tool that will clean viruses
Here is its official page:

If you would like to clean your computer ,in my opinion and everyone else
will advise you so , perform the detailed malware removal instructions in my

I did the Panda online scan and came up with a fistfull of cookies of the
following "potentially unwanted tools" (no viruses):
HideWindow.A
KillApp.A
KillApp.B
plus one adware: cws. I'm going to dump all my cookies and remove those
three tools (once I figure out how).
Pandaman, I don't wish to offend you, but I'm hesitant to use a cleaning
tool from your website because I don't really know you. I do appreciate your
ideas, and do forgive me for sounding paranoid but I've become pretty spooky
about downloading since I've read about spyware, malware and adware. Hope you
understand.

Hello. You really should clean your computer.
You really don't need to remember to turn Norton or the firewall ON because
if you are clean (there is no problem ) they both start automatically. :)

Thanks very much for your help. I will do an internet scan, and I'll remember
to manually enable Norton & the XP Firewall if I get those signs again.

Security softwares and Windows firewall have work to report their status to
"Security Center" in XP SP2. Norton has option to hide its status of Securty
Center however Win Firewall can't hide its status.
If Security Center shows Windows Firewall is off , it is really OFF.
If Norton has red X on it , it is really off.
If this disappears as soon as you started your computer , you're probably ok.
If your Norton remains red X on it or Security center still say Windows
Firewall is off , you can suspect infection.

I have a mystery that I'd like someone to solve for me: on a few occasions
recently I've noticed that my up-to-date subscription to Norton AntiVirus
status bar icon has had a red "X" on it. When I investigate, Norton A/V is
indeed enabled. In fact, I've made a point of disabling then enabling it when
I've seen this, just to make sure.
Today when I started up my computer (XP) I got a message from the status bar
that Windows Firewall was turned off. I clicked the icon and found that the
firewall displayed as being ON. At the same time, I had that red X showing on
the Norton icon, which also turned out to be enabled.
What the heck's going on? Should I suspect a virus of some kind? I do run
Spybot and AdAware once a week, as well as doing a Norton scan. Does anyone
have any ideas? The only thing I've done to my system recently was change my
cookie download status to "prompt," so I can see what cookies are coming at
me.
