I would suggest that you review the release notes for service pack 1 of
Windows 2003, particularly the changes to DCOM/RPC, and that you
check with that third-party vendor's website or other support to see if
they have made update available to make the application a well-behaved
client in XP Sp2 / W2k3 Sp1.
