An updated MSSECURE.XML file dated 2005.02.25.0 has been publicly released
for all supported languages (ENU, DEU, FRN and JPN) to provide bug fixes for
3 issues. No new bulletins have been added from the February bulletin
release (2/8). This is a BUG FIX ONLY release.
Bug fixes in this release:
· Added distinct KB numbers for MBSA results for MS05-009 bulletin
to distinguish between supported Windows Media Player detection (KB885492)
and unsupported Messenger instances that currently report as Note Messages
in MBSA (KB887472). This has no effect on MBSA users. This solves a
problem reported by SMS customers who received conflicting MS05-009 results
for Windows Media Player when using both MBSA and EST detection bundles.
The WMP results will now be more accurate for MBSA and consistent with
EST-based results.
· Fixed a potential 'greater than' warning for Windows NT 4
instances of MS04-024 on Japanese locale
· Fixed a problem with incorrect MS02-050 reporting in obscure cases
on German and Japanese only (which should not have been visible to users
since this patch is replaced by MS04-011)
If there are delays obtaining the latest, updated XML files, be sure you
review KB842432 to troubleshoot potential local proxy and caching issues
before posting to the to Microsoft.public.security.baseline_analyzer
newsgroup.
