Strange e-mails- Are these a virus or Spam?

For a while now, I've been getting strange e-mails that are either a virus or
spam. . .I use a UNIX based e-mail system, so haven't had to worry about
them, but they are getting annoying. . .

They typically look something like the e-mail below, but i've also gotten a
few that are only a few lines long and have random words pasted together,
like "shoes teleport 1993 Brittney" or something just as unintelligible and
typically have a .jpg file attached which I never open. . .

Any ideas?
