Although I dont wholly disagre with Dave, he makes a good point...ot two.
The first priority is assesing the lack of outbreak protection that is
implied in your post. Rogue machines and removable media are prime mediums
for introducing infections in to a network. Recently, McAfee VirusScan and
Kaspersky was rated best of breed. Inour implementation of McAfee and their
backend management tool, called ePolicy Orchestrator, we have the ability to
detect rogue machines and respond to them accordingly.
