win98 critical updates.

This a repost from software forum,if that is not allowed plz
delete.downloads critical updates ok,but when tries to install
Thunkconnect32 Failure! W95INF32.DLL.I had previously cleaned my comp
with various utilities,I have no problems surfing the web,tried
installing ie6setup.exe, MDAC and VBRUN to fix it same error.Anything
not microsoft installs ok.any ideas welcome.Also thread here, ran out
