Cannot view files and folder in explorer

I am in need of some help. Recently in the last week, I am unable to view
files or folders on my C: drive on my windows 2003 server. These files are
there, because all of my websites are running ok, but I get a blank right
pane in explorer when I click the C drive.

I am able to create a file on my c: drive but as soon as I create it, it
disappears from the explorer view.

If I go to the command prompt, it puts me in my user folder and I am able to
list files using the DIR command
but if I try to look outside of that folder no files will show up

My question is why would this behavior occur and how can I fix it? Has
anyone heard of this happening before for no apparent reason?
