Win XP Home/msn Explorer, Firewall enabled...

When I use the Run utility, then type <msconfig>, I'll get no response from
the computer 50% of the time. Other times, I get only a quick, on-screen
"flash" of the msconfig user interface.

Could this be the result of a known virus? I just started seeing this early
this morning. System restore operates, but doesn't eliminate this curious
problem.

The last thing I remember doing differently, is I had downloaded Yahoo
messenger, and (regrettably) asked it to be my primary messenger program.
I'm not sure if that's the cause of the msconfig dialog box disappearing act,
however.

Thanks in advance for your help!
