maximum users on shared drive

JS,
Unfortunately the maximum number of users that can connect
to a share on a W2k pro machine is 10. This is a
hard-coded limit on the Operating System. The only way
round it is to upgrade to the Server version. I'm not sure
why you are stuck with a maximum of 7 being able to access
the share, you could chech who has connected to the share
by, Right clicking My Computer|Manage|Sessions. Hope this
